Scope of Responsibilities

• The lead structural engineer is responsible for all project structural design and analysis.  He/She will ensure that all structural design, analysis, drafting and reporting is carried out in line with DPS procedures, recognised International Standards and best engineering practice.
• The lead structural engineer will assist with the development and training of all structural engineering staff.
• He/She shall ensure that DPS structural procedures and practices are up-to-date with & maintained at current international standard level and best practice.

Primary Duties

• Structural analysis & design
• Checking and Approval of Structural reports, drawings, calculations & procedures
• Scheduling and resourcing of project structural teams
• Liaising with DPS colleagues & clients on projects
• Developing & training of DPS structural team
• Reporting to engineering manager

Qualifications

• BEng (Hons) in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or considerable experience in industrial/offshore structures

Experience & Competency

• Considerable experience in industrial or offshore structural design
• Considerable experience in structural project execution (incl scheduling and resourcing)
• Experience of leading structural teams
• Experience of International Codes & Standards including AISC, API, BS
• Some experience of offshore loading including Wave motions, Blast, Fatigue & Green Sea
• Some experience of 3rd party inspectorates such as DNV, ABS, Lloyds
• Good written and oral communication skills
