Scope of Responsibilities
• Assisting the Engineering Manager with the day to day running of the Design Office
• Maintain standard documentation and drawings in accordance with company’s quality procedures and best practice.
• Control of draughting resource in support of all disciplines
• Quality control of all drawing/documentation outputs of the design department
• Supervision and training of departmental staff
• Production all discipline drawings using SmartPlant P&IDs & AutoCAD
Primary Duties
• Supervise design/draughting resource for all disciplines in support of Projects.
• Ensure all draughting and documentation produced by the department is in accordance with company procedures
• Mentoring and training junior staff in the Design Office
• Production of a wide variety of engineering documents and drawings for all disciplines
• Organising the provision of specialist 3rd party services as and when required
• Managing all design office software administration.
Qualifications
A recognised qualification in engineering of at least HNC level.
Experience & Competency
Proven ability and demonstration of the skills necessary for managing a multidiscipline technical team, developing appropriate relationships at all levels of the organisation, the ability to work well within a team and on own initiative.
Competent in one or more CAD packages (preferably AutoCAD and/or SmartPlant P&ID)
5-10 years experience of design office supervision (ideally in an Oil/Gas, pharmaceutical or industrial plant)
